Who doesn’t want more leads and customers for their business? But how do you go about getting more? The best way for your business to grow is to attract more customers with the right content that compliments your brand and the message you are trying to get across to them.
Taking your time and investing in quality over quantity content is the best way to reach more customers. Try not to rush the process or make it too sales-focused. People hate to be sold to and will turn off from bad content but will embrace the content and become loyal customers if your brand message and content is good enough.
Your first step is understanding your audience. Ask yourself these questions whenever you plan content for your business:
- Who are your customers?
- What questions are your customers asking?
- Where do your customers look for answers and solutions?
- How do your customers search for answers?
Let’s take a look at four types of content that you can use to grow your audience.

Awesome Blog Content
Blogging is a very popular content marketing tool for businesses. They are a great way to be found on Google when your customers are searching for something specific.
Focus on the needs of your audience and optimize the content for keywords.
Did you know you can turn blog content into various other forms of content?
Repurpose the quality information you’ve got into videos, podcasts and social media posts!
For example, we wrote a blog about ‘How Can I Improve My Business Local SEO?’ and turned it into a quick and easy social media post.
Video Content
Videos look to be the way of the future. Customers are spending more time watching online videos as they are easier to digest. With the rise of TikTok and Instagram Reels, short videos (max of 1 minute) are the way forward. You only have 3-5 seconds to hook the audience into your video.
Our TikTok Queen Anna has 3 tools you can use to create TikTok and Reel videos.
While these videos are all the rage, don’t forget about longer video content such as introduction videos, support, explainer and Q&A’s.
What brand videos do you enjoy watching? Can you take inspiration from them?
Podcasts
A podcast is a more personal way to reach your audience. This is because hearing a voice behind the ‘brand’ and getting to know that person will build a stronger connection. People listen to podcasts on their commutes, on a lunch break, while exercising or if they want 30 minutes off screen-time.
How to get started with your podcast; think of topics linked to your business and industry that you can easily talk about. Turn this into conversations with colleagues or other businesses. You can also ask your audience to write in and contribute.
We use Anchor to create our Podcast episodes. According to Anchor, podcasting doesn’t need to be complicated. It honestly could not be easier, you can record via your phone! You don’t even need an expensive microphone recording set up. How great is that?
Our Director Callum feels audio marketing is easier for the audience to digest, they can listen to it while doing other activities and it should be part of your marketing strategy. Back in 2018 Caullum predicted that podcasting would grow immensely and he was right. In 2020, there were over 15 million podcast listeners in the UK (Statisa, 2021)
Newsletters
Newsletters are an excellent way for you to stay in touch with customers who have either made a purchase or signed up to be on your email list as they intend to make a purchase.
Use this to share exclusive content such as company updates, presale codes, offers and snippets of new services or products. Email marketing can be easily measured with metrics showing open and click-through rates.
Here are our 3 steps to start you off on creating an engaging email that will help keep your audience wanting more!
- An engaging subject line can entice the customers before they even open the email, try to keep it short and snappy.
– Creating segmented lists means you can send specific emails out to those who are interested in that particular topic.
-Use phrases such as “act now!” or “don’t miss out!” to create a sense of urgency.
